Pillar 04 — Advertising & Measurement

Spend that buys rank, not receipts.

Most "optimization" is bid-nudging noise on eight clicks of data. We run advertising the way an operator has to: governed by TACOS, aimed at organic rank, gated by statistical significance — and paced against the purchase orders Amazon is actually writing.

TACOSthe governing metric — total ad cost over total sales, trending down as organic compounds

The doctrine

Four rules that separate spend from waste.

RULE 01

Bid to rank, not to ACOS

Growth accounts bid keywords to a target organic position, accept the interim ACOS, then harvest. ACOS-worship optimizes yesterday; rank buys tomorrow.

RULE 02

Significance before action

No bid moves on eight clicks. Changes clear a statistical gate first — dayparting only where hourly conversion data proves a real pattern.

RULE 03

TACOS governs everything

Falling TACOS on flat spend means the organic flywheel is working. Healthy mature accounts run 5–10%; launches earn 15–25% on purpose, temporarily.

RULE 04

Never advertise a dying PO

Spending into an ASIN Amazon is under-ordering strands budget on a listing about to go dark. Ads and supply run off the same weekly telemetry. This is the 1P-native edge.

The stack

Full funnel, provably incremental.

The 2026 client conversation isn't ROAS — it's incrementality. Amazon Marketing Cloud's exposed-versus-unexposed analysis answers the only question that matters: would this sale have happened anyway?

01

Sponsored Products — the rank engine

Keyword-mined, rank-targeted, harvested on schedule. The workhorse.

02

Sponsored Brands & Display — shelf defense

Own your branded shelf, take competitors', and retarget browsers who didn't convert.

03

DSP + AMC — the clean room

Audience building, path-to-conversion analysis, custom attribution windows — measurement that survives a CFO's questions.

04

External traffic — the multiplier

Google and Meta into Amazon with attribution instrumented, so off-platform spend earns rank credit instead of vanishing.

Next step

Audit the spend with the supply.

Ad waste hides in the gap between what you're promoting and what Amazon is ordering. We audit both at once.
